All Grades Football Meeting: June 6th, 6:00pm OHS Commons First day of Summer Weight Lifting: (ALL Football players) June 13th up stairs in high school weight room. 7:45am for Juniors and Seniors 8:45am for Freshmen and Sophomores. Speed training follows weight lifting. Sign up using blog post below this one. June 13th, 15th and July 11th, 13th- Summer Practice (Helmets only) 4:00-7:00pm. Meet in OHS Commons unless notified otherwise. Each day will have a 2 hour practice. First part will be in the classroom teaching some aspect of our scheme. Summer 7 on 7 passing league at UWL- June 19th, 26th, July 10th, 17th, 24th. Earliest start time is 4:00pm. Exact schedule yet to come. 4th-9th Grade Skills Camp- June 20th- 21st, July 11th,12th, 25th, 26th 2:30-4:00pm This camp will help get all of our youth football players ready for football by teaching them the skills and scheme they will need heading into the fall. Incoming 9th graders will begin to install the basic freshmen playbook. The more incoming freshmen that we can get signed up for this camp, the further along the team will be heading into practice. Cleats are the only equipment needed. Sign up via Park and Rec Website found here. Youth Football Camp (1st through 8th Grade)- July 25th-26th 4:00-6:00pm. This camp will introduce and expand upon the football skills of our youth football players at all levels. Attendees will be taught age appropriate drills that will help them succeed at the level of football they will be playing this fall. Sign up and bring a friend with as this camp is always a lot of fun. Our current OHS football players help lead the camp and lead flag football games to finish each day. Please get your athletes signed up for Summer School Strength Training and Speed Training! Registration is still open! Please note that it is a two-step process: STEP 1: Visit our Summer School website. This is just to create your account. Everyone will have to create an account. (The website did not store last year's user names and passwords.) STEP 2: . Login to the website and select your courses. Sign up for both Speed and Strength Training! See times/ and groupings below. Strength Training Groups and Times 7:45-9:00am 11th and 12th Grade Male Athletes in Weight Room--- From 9:00-10:00am Speed Training 8:45-10:00am 9th and 10th Grade Male Athletes + 11th and 12th grade Female Athletes in Weight Room-- Go to Speed Training from 10:00am-11:00am 9:45-11:00am 9th and 10th grade Females + Any Middle School Athletes who want to do speed training, and all athletes with first session summer school class in weight room. -- Speed training follows from 11:00am-Noon 11:00am- Noon- All Middle School Athletes who are not also doing speed training. Boys Basketball will have open gyms on Monday's and Thursday's at Eagle Bluff from 7:30-8:30. Therefore on those days the Basketball team will lift at 8:45 (or when they get back from open gym) This year speed training will have a conditioning focus on 2 days of the week and speed training focus on 2 days of the week. Many athletes wanted more conditioning work and this is how we have worked it in. Conditioning days we will focus on competitive conditioning such as hill sprints, tire flips, sled pulls and other intense conditioning events. Bring cleats if you have them as we will be outside most days and the track will be resurfaced meaning most work will be done at Lawcon (football practice field) |
